About Yeshua House Beliefs

We believe according to Deuteronomy 6:4—“Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one”—that God is echad, a united one, eternally existing as Elohim in the triune nature of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; is omnipresent, omnipotent, sovereign God; creator and sustainer of all things, and infinitely perfect in holiness and wisdom, unbounded in power and measureless in love. (Genesis 1; Psalm 139:7; 148; Isaiah 46:5-12; John 17; Ephesians 4:6)

God the Father is the Creator and sustainer of all things. He created man in His image for fellowship; and calls all back to recover the relationship that was lost after the rebellion and fall, through His Son, Yeshua the Messiah—Jesus Christ. He mercifully concerns Himself in the affairs of mankind, thus hearing and responding to prayers of faith. (Genesis 1; Matthew 6:5-14, 25-34; 7:7-12; 18:11)

Yeshua the Messiah—Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning. As purposed according to the Scriptures, He came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the maiden as prophesied in Isaiah 7:14; Mary (Miriam in Hebrew) the virgin. He came first as Israel's Messiah-King, lived a sinless life, fully human, fully God. In His infinite love for the lost He obeyed the Father's will, and became the divinely provided sacrificial Lamb, bearing the holy judgments against sin imposed by the righteousness of God. He, therefore, became the Savior of the lost, and is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him since He always lives to make intercession for them. According to the Scriptures He arose from the dead, was accepted by the Father, and has become Head over all things to God’s community of believers. (Psalm 22; Isaiah 7:14; 11; 53; John 1:1-18; 14:6-11; Ephesians 1:20-22; Hebrews 1; 7:25)

The Holy Spirit is God, who was active in the Old Testament, and released to believers in fullness at Pentecost. He indwells believers upon placing faith in the LORD, Messiah Jesus, making His presence real. He cleanses man from the old corrupted nature through the continuing process of sanctification, and teaches, comforts, guides, convicts, and empowers believers for service and witness. He imparts and releases the gifts of the Spirit to believers to be used for the work of the ministry and edification. His work is evident in the lives of believers through the fruit of the Spirit. (Genesis 41:38; Exodus 31:3; Numbers 11:17-29; Nehemiah 9:30; Psalm 51:11; John 3:5-8; 14:15-17; 16:5-15; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:17; 1Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:22)

The 66 books constituting the Bible are the inspired and infallible Word of God. Its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, reproof, and practical guidance in godliness. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Salvation is a free gift of God's grace, appropriated by faith in the atoning blood of Yeshua the Messiah—Jesus Christ. As Scripture reveals, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The LORD’s death served as the propitiatory sacrifice that satisfied God's divine judgment of sin; serving to once and for all, pass over sin and reconciled man to God by paying the full penalty for sin. Believing in the LORD's atonement constitutes our new birth, beginning the process of sanctification and growth towards the upward call of God. No form of works, however, can earn salvation. The new life in the LORD includes the privileges of adoption and inheritance in the Kingdom of God's beloved Son. It should produce a lifestyle marked by reverence towards God, heartfelt worship and obedient action in accordance with God's Word, and service to others from a willing, loving heart. (Isaiah 53:4-5; 65:6-7; Romans 3:23-26; 8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 3)

Man was created in God's image and endowed with a capacity to have intimate fellowship with God. He was also given a free will. Satan, the originator of sin, led our first parents into transgression by casting doubt on God's Word and truth, appealing to their capacity and carnal inclination to sin (iniquity). Their willful disobedience subjected them to a state of enmity with God, and likewise separation from God, resulting in a state of spiritual death. God provided for a means of reconciling man to Himself through the sacrificial atonement of Messiah Jesus. In His death and resurrection, He manifested the victory over the power of sin and death.  (Genesis 3; 6:5; Psalm 42:1-2; 51; Romans 4-7; 1 Peter 5:8-10)

We believe that the Jewish people were and still are a covenant people chosen by God to be a channel of blessing to all the nations of the earth; a people through whom God committed His oracles; and to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises, which include the Messiah and Holy Spirit. God continues to accomplish His purposes in and through the Jewish people and land of Israel. The return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel is a testimony and fulfillment of Bible prophecy. We believe that a day will come when Israel as a nation will accept Yeshua the Messiah. Then shall the Word of God go forth from Zion and the Messiah will come again to establish His world-wide rule from Jerusalem. (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:18-21; 35:9-12; Isaiah 2:1-4; 11; 66; Zechariah 12-14; Micah 4; Romans 3:2; 9:4; 10-11)

God has called a community of Jewish and Gentile believers to be a light to the world, proclaiming Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ, in accordance with the Scripture; in word and demonstration of the Spirit in love, therefore acting as God's primary instrument through which He fulfills His redemptive purposes in the earth. To equip the community of believers for the work of ministry, God has given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. All believers are priests and joined in active service. (Matthew 28:18; Mark 16:15-18; John 13:13-17; 1 Corinthians 12:12-26; Ephesians 4; 1 Peter 2:4-5)

We affirm that water baptism signifies union with the LORD in His death, burial and resurrection, and the abiding presence or indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It is the outward sign of the confession of the individual's heart. We also affirm that the LORD baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:4-8; 2:37-39; 8:15-17; 19:1-6)

True faith is of a trusting nature of the heart, not just the mind. God requires faith to please Him, and raise our focus above the temporal issues of life towards God, His eternal purposes and His kingdom. The Spirit reveals the way and life of the Son; and the Son reveals the heart and purposes of the Father. Faith inspires actions intended to glorify God. (John 14-17; Romans 10:10; Hebrews 11:6; James 2:14-26)

John the Baptist affirmed what Messiah Jesus proclaimed at the beginning of His ministry: "the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Since the beginning, God has, and will continue to advance His kingdom on earth, fulfilling the plans of His heart by the counsel of His will, in accordance with His will as the LORD prayed in John 17. He accomplishes His will through willing and faithful servants who engage and participate with Him. God alone initiates His plans, and He accomplishes them through God-ordained processes. He, therefore, seeks participants who will walk with the fear of the Lord and be faithful stewards of His causes. (Psalm 33:11; Psalm 25:9-14; 1 Kings 8:56-61; Isaiah 45:11; 46:8-10; Amos 3:7; Matthew 3:2; 4:17; Ephesians 1:11)

Satan is the spiritual adversary of God and God's followers. He actively opposes the work of mankind and God’s community of believers through the work of His counter-kingdom of darkness, causing evil and unrest on the earth.  It is therefore important to stand against such activity by standing on God’s Word, maintaining sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and a willingness to submit to the cross personal desires, unholy passions, and thoughts that exalt themselves above the knowledge of God. Satan was judged and defeated at the cross and at the end of the age will be cast forever into the lake of fire which has been prepared for him. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6; Ephesians 6:11-13; Revelation 20)

We affirm the bodily second coming of Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saints, the millennium, and the final judgment. The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, determined by their relationship to God. (Matthew 24:29-31; Rev. 20)
